Class Description
In this class, students will expand upon their knowledge from ASL 1, adding more vocabulary, learning more ASL grammar, more about deaf culture, as well as becoming more fluent in their conversational signing! The course includes sign vocabulary, fingerspelling, numbers and expressive and receptive signing activities as well as exploring history of ASL and becoming knowledgeable of aspects of Deaf Culture which is an integral part of meaningful language use. ASL 2 is designed to build upon students’ foundation in signed communication. There will be quizzes, exams and final projects each semester. This course will fulfill one year of foreign language credit for high school.
