Class Description

Students will learn about kitchen basics, good nutrition, meal  management, and food preparation. Each student will participate in  cooking labs to teach the basics of preparing and cooking different kinds  of foods. This knowledge will help students gain confidence and ability in  cooking. The goal for each student is to be comfortable in the kitchen  whether planning, helping, or cooking. There will be reading homework,  quizzes, and a final exam. Mentor supplies all ingredients for each lab.  Most of the student’s utensil supplies can be brought from home. Cooking  can be FUN!
