Please be sure to get the 4th Edition Life Science Student Textbook (with a blue peacock on the cover).

Life Science is the study of the living wonders that surround us every day; your students will learn to appreciate the wonders of Nature, as well as its Creator, in the 7th Grade Life Science Curriculum by Bob Jones University Press. The basics of science are covered, including classification of species, cell structure, relationships among organisms, genetics, microbiology, botany, zoology, and ecology, as well as man's relationship to the environment. Special features in the chapter include "Facets of life science," "career feature," "thinking critically," and "connections in science," which connect inter-disciplinary topics and highlight real-life issues or questions to think about. This 4th Edition has been revised and rewritten to better fit this grade level with "Connections in Science" and a "contrasting worldviews" approach. New chapter review sections include bullet point summaries, question categories, and standardized test prep questions.

We will also be doing numerous labs in class throughout the year which will include a dissection of  an animal such as a frog, earthworm, grasshopper or squid and the dissection or a sheep or cow’s heart and/or brain to compare the structure to that of a human’s heart. Your student can go to Study Hall during the dissection if you don’t think they are ready. I will also teach the format of writing formal lab reports to prepare your student for high school and collegiate science courses.
