Latina Christiana (Latin 2) is designed as a beginner Latin course for upper elementary or middle school students and as a great continuation of Prima Latina (Latin 1). Students can start in this class without having taken Prima Latina (Latin 1).

The Student Workbook includes 25 lessons and 5 review lessons. Each includes a grammar lesson, 10 vocabulary words per lesson with corresponding English derivatives and Latin sayings. Students will learn to translate phrases, learn about grammar, complete sentences with the appropriate derivatives, conjugate verbs, decline nouns and more. I will also be teaching Roots, Prefixes and Suffixes using materials from several Memoria Press books.

There is also a history/culture component to Latina Christiana taken from Famous Men of Rome and the National Latin Exam Prep. Learning the history and culture of the Roman Empire is always interesting to students.

Studying Latin will help students learn English grammar, vocabulary, spelling, sentence structure and will often boost scores on Standardized tests such as the PSAT, SAT and ACT as well as end of year testing. Students will be learning material that will allow them to take the National Latin Exam, if desired, which offers scholarship opportunities based on test scores.
