Class Description
Fall semester
The first few classes will focus on learning and memorizing the Spanish alphabet, counting up to 20, days of the week, and months of the year. As the class progresses, the students will learn more Spanish words such as classroom items, objects at home, animals, outside objects, colors, and food. Short Spanish greetings and dialog will also be memorized. Fun word games and drawing and coloring pictures will be used to enhance memorization. Homework will consist of writing new words on index cards to practice at home and handouts to complete. Correct pronunciation is the main goal of the class. Puppets and balls will also be used to add some fun to the class.
Spring semester
The first class will focus on reviewing what was learned in the last semester or what new students already know. The students will build their Spanish vocabulary by practicing old words and learning new words. Short Spanish greetings and dialog will also be memorized. Fun word games and drawing and coloring pictures will be used to enhance memorization. Homework will consist of writing new words on index cards to practice at home and handouts to complete.
