Class Description
This course provides the foundational tools to excel in writing-intensive college courses. Students will develop their writing skills while learning essential citation formats and college-level writing styles. The goal of this class is to provide students with the tools they need to present their ideas effectively in written form.
Students will practice various forms of writing (including essays, an oratory, critical response papers, poetry, creative writing, and a research paper), while also learning to analyze and critique sources effectively. Through peer reviews, in class exercises, and structured assignments broken into manageable steps, students will gain confidence in crafting compelling arguments, presenting ideas clearly, and citing sources properly.
