Fall 2023: Hamlet by William Shakespeare, Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe, Jane Erye by Charlotte Bronte


Spring 2024: Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, Silas Marner by George Elliot, War of the Worlds by H.G.

Wells, and The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.


This class will be a college prep course focusing on reading and analyzing books, poems, plays, and short stories taken from recommended reading lists for college-bound students. This will be a book-based, writing intensive course which will focus on helping students hone their critical thinking skills and writing abilities.


There will be weekly reading quizzes and reading assignments as well as several papers.


*This class may be taken for two years as the subject matter will change.
