Books needed: Freedom Train (the story of Harriet Tubman) by Dorothy Sterling (needed the first week of class) The Call of the Wild by Jack London (needed later in the semester)
Class Description
This class focuses on the study of great literature as well as the basic elements of the writing process. We will read two novels per semester, going deeper as we analyze them from a literary standpoint.
Class time will consist of discussion and activities related to the weekly reading as well as writing instruction and application. Creative Writing and Journaling are also part of this course.
*This class may be taken for three years as different books are read each year.
